About QueerCade

What this arcade is, where the game data comes from, and how editors curate it.

An arcade with an editor

QueerCade starts where most game databases stop. Editors search IGDB for a title, preview everything IGDB knows about it, and import the record into Sanity. From there it is content: a custom description, editor notes, a status, a place in a curated collection.

Where the data comes from

Covers, summaries, release dates, platforms, genres and ratings come from IGDB. Every IGDB request is made on the server, so no credentials ever reach the browser. Imported metadata is clearly separated from editorial writing, and refreshing a game from IGDB never overwrites an editor's words.

What reaches this screen

Only approved and featured games are public. Imported games wait in the review queue, and archived games never appear at all. Every import and refresh is logged, so the history of the arcade is part of the content too.
